From little things, big things grow

We get super excited about big satisfying features such as customer credit, gift vouchers and the upcoming – rooms and resources feature. However, it’s the little things that can often delight us, even though they are easy to overlook.

For example, we added this small improvement to the calendar. It’s elegant, fast and pops up when you click anywhere on the calendar.

In addition to looking great, it’s considerably faster than the previous approach. In fact, it’s so fast it appears instantly!

Previously, when the calendar was clicked – the add to the calendar pop up took roughly 1 second to appear every time. So I asked our Techbots how much time was being wasted.

They tell me that across all our Timely customers, over 25 hours a day was spent waiting for the old pop up to appear. But not anymore!

Okay, let’s take a look at another small change that appeared yesterday.

When your customers booked online, they would’ve needed to select a staff member as part of the date/time selection step. It turned out that it was too easy for customers to miss that important step and simply went with the defaults.

To make it clear that a staff member has to be selected (or depending on your settings, no preference chosen), the staff selection has now been split into its own step.

Another advantage of using this approach is that it’s easier to see staff bios too!
