Instagram has become a huge part of any social media strategy. It’s the cornerstone to promoting a beautiful visual brand and ultimately building a great empire.

Put your brand on the spot with Instagram

In marketing, there are guidelines you should follow and goals to set that will lead you to Instagram prosperity and give your brand a unique point of difference. Great organisation and being strategy-focused is going to get you far. If you want to stay on top of your game, stay tuned. We’ll get you there.

1. Are you strategy focused?

Focus on your crucial branding points and eliminate too much “fluff”. Set clear goals for yourself and your brand. (Here’s how to do that.) Pick a theme, create an account, and be very selective when it comes to content. You shouldn’t be all over the place, trying to please everyone, because that’s not going to happen anyway. Stay laser-focused and be committed to consistency. No more than two novelty posts across the week. Keep your brand serious, and engage in humor and pop culture occasionally.

2. Are you communicating?

Engage, engage, engage. It’s simple. Respond to all your comments and comment on other pages posts too. Build an authentic ‘social’ relationship with your audience and offer them incentives to remain ‘Insta-loyal’ to your account. It’s important to engage and comment with pages that you don’t follow. They may be relevant for a campaign purpose as apposed to a branding exercise.

3. Are you all about quality?

If not, you should be. Building a great brand is only possible by attracting followers, and you can do this with a brilliant ‘visual’ imagery. It’s not about how many photos you post, it’s about the idea behind each photo and how unique it is. Try to put your own genuine stamp on each one.

Remember, there are many people out there who are trying to be unique, just as you. But not everyone thinks like you, so use that to your advantage.

4. Are you combining your platforms?

Studies have shown that promoting your social handles/accounts on other platforms is an advantageous approach for your business. Especially because there is a vast number of people out there who only choose to use one platform. Leverage your content between (for example) Instagram and Facebook. Once you combine the power of both, have multi disciplinary functions and audience segments.
