This life coach loves the way Timely works for her business

At age 19 Amanda started with Estee Lauder UK selling lipstick, and quickly moved into a training role. After a series of promotions, her final position with Estee Lauder was as Clinique Regional Education Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Amanda took the training skills she learned and combined them with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). This blended approach created international demand for her training. Having worked extensively around the world, she knows that location is no obstacle to business success. We spoke to Amanda in Portugal, from where she is launching her life-coaching business in Europe.

As she works with people around the world, on any given day Amanda might start the day with a Skype session with a client in New York, followed by a face-to-face in her home office near Arrowtown, New Zealand. What enables her to work in this way is the use of smart business tools.

The online toolbox that helps Amanda’s business succeed

Alongside Timely’s appointment scheduling, Amanda uses a suite of applications including Xero, Dropbox and Listboom. She loves that Xero and Timely work seamlessly together, which helps her to save time and manage the business.

“With my online toolbox I don’t actually need anyone to do my basic business management. I can hire someone to take a much more hands-on role within the business to help it grow.”

Timely scales with the business

Amanda trains life coaches around the globe, enabling them to operate their own business licensed under the ‘Your Life Live It’ brand. She also runs personal coaching clinics, and uses Timely to manage these client sessions.

She encourages all of her licensees to use Timely, and plans to include Timely as part of her “Business in a Box”. This is the system she has created to help licensees get up and running quickly. As her Your Life Live It brand grows, so will the use of Timely across her business.

Good communication with clients

Before starting with Timely, Amanda used a simple phone calendar. While it worked fine early on, it was not enough to manage her appointments once her schedule became more hectic.

“When we used a basic calendar, we had a no-show rate of about 20%. People just forget about their appointments. Now we are on Timely, this rate has dropped to 2%, as everyone is on the same page with the email reminders.”

Much more than keeping clients organised, Amanda says Timely has become her personal diary.

“I don’t use the calendar in my iPhone anymore, I just use Timely for everything. It’s so much easier.”

As she works around the globe, Amanda relies on her iPhone 6s and iPad to find success anywhere she goes, saying: “With Timely and Xero I can easily book in business and bill for work I have done whilst on the move. I love how my business has grown with the simplicity of these two partners.”
