Check out the latest updates from Timely this March!

March 2021 Changelog

New Features & Enhancements

18 March

  • Saving a card at the point of saving a client with TimelyPay
    • Prior to this update, in order to save a card against a new client’s profile via TimelyPay, the staff must create a new client profile first, save that, then add a card against that profile. With this update, businesses can now add a card at the point of creating a new client’s profile on the Customers page.

31 March

  • No-Show Protection on New Checkout Flow V1
    • Businesses on the new checkout flow can now charge a no-show fee from the calendar, and their experience will be the same, regardless if they are using the new checkout flow or not.

Bug Fixes

3 March

  • In-store payments made via stored cards with an amount lower than the total invoice amount
    • We’ve fixed an issue with Cardless Checkout when an in-store payment is made via a stored card with an amount lower than the total invoice amount. Previously, this would overcharge the TimelyPay fees for businesses as we would calculate their fees based on the total invoice amount and not the partial payment made. This is now resolved, so partial in-store payments are charged the correct TimelyPay fees.
  • Wording of the button on the Details page of Client Login
    • We've had some feedback from some TimelyPay business who have Card Capture enabled that some of their clients have been turning up at their shops without a confirmed booking yet.  In order to help make it clearer to clients that their appointment is not yet complete, we’ve now changed the wording of the button on the Details page from `Book` to `Continue` if the client must save a card first.

8 March

  • Bug Fixes for Saving a Card When Paying In-Store
    • Previously, if a user deletes a non-default credit card, we still say Card ending in xxxx will be set as the new default even though it already is the default.  This has now been fixed, so that the non-default card just gets removed, and the default card stays as the default. We’ve also changed the card list from a 2-column to a 1-column layout, so that the content will look less crammed and messy if there are multiple saved cards.
  • Change wording on online bookings expiry if Card capture is on and not taking online payments
    • After we’ve reinstated the online bookings expiry email for TimelyPay businesses, we’ve had some businesses, who have Card capture enabled but are not taking online payments, who were confused with the email. We’ve fixed this now, so these affected businesses will receive a new email template instead.

17 March

  • Adjusting stock levels to 0
    • We fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to use the 'Set stock level' option to set a product's stock level to 0. This is now possible.
  • Receipted stock in the Stock movement report
    • We previously were not showing stock receipts as a movement type in the Stock movement report - this is now fixed.

18 March

  • Sending an empty SMS message
    • We fixed a bug fix that’s affecting businesses trying to send empty ad hoc SMS’s. Previously, if a user tries to send an empty SMS message from the Customer page, we show them a techbot error. But we’ve fixed this now to display the normal validation alerts instead.
  • Payment screen for free or varied services with fixed deposit amounts
    • Previously, if a business has a service that is either price = Free or Varied, and they chose to have a fixed amount deposit in online bookings, the ‘Price’ and “Due’ columns on the payments screen look broken when clients arrive on online bookings. This has been fixed now, so that the columns are tidied up.
  • Unhandled payment errors
    • We have fixed this, so that these payment errors are now handled in the front-end and displayed to the user.

  • No-Show Protection Bug Fixes and UI Tweaks
    • Previously, users can charge a no-show fee from the cancellation flow for pencilled-in bookings. We’ve fixed this now, so they can only charge a fee if it’s a confirmed booking.
    • We’ve added some helper text under the No-Show protection and Changes policy settings in order to make it clearer to users that they can set up the time on their cancellation policy via their Changes policy.
    • We’ve changed the info text under the No-Show protection setting for when online payments are on to: No show protection can only be used when online payments is turned off, so it's a bit clearer.
  • Error for TimelyPay Customers when Client Login Setting is Off
    • TimelyPay businesses were getting an error on the Online Bookings settings page if their Client Login setting is off. This has been fixed now, so businesses should be able to use the page as per usual.
