Some payments providers removed from Timely in UK

Making sure you are able to take online payments following the latest security rules is critical for us. Ahead of the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) regulations coming into effect in the UK, we have removed all the online payments providers from Timely that don't support these new rules intended to enhance the security of payments and limit fraud during the authentication process. Please make sure you activate TimelyPay which goes far beyond just being a payment gateway or PayPal to continue taking online payments if you haven't done that yet!

Auto-save added when filling in a Consult form

We found that clients who were spending a long time filling in a Consult form were having their progress lost. This was due to their session timing out and so progress was lost. We now auto-save a form every 5 minutes which means progress will not be lost for the client when filling in a form.

Managing no shows for new services

The "Appointment complete" option is now set to empty when checking out a service with status "did not show". Previously this field was checked by default, this is no longer the case for no shows.

TimelyPay Supports Strong Customer Authentication

If you've chosen TimelyPay as your payment solution, you can be confident that your clients' payments will not fail when additional level of authentication is required! Financial Conduct Authority have applied the rules that affect the way banks and other payment services providers check that the person trying to make a payment is permitted to do so. The new rules, referred to as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), are intended to enhance the security of payments and limit fraud during this authentication process.

Pencilled in booking email notification enabled for for customers using pencilled-in booking status.

Last month we created a new notification message type for pencilled-in bookings. Now, for all customers currently with an "Initial status for new appointments" set to Pencilled-in, we have enabled the message type. This will create immediate value as your clients will now will receive an email informing them that their booking request has been received resulting in less calls to you.

Next form button added when clients fill in Consult forms

We found that when clients were sent more than one Consult form, they were only filling in one form as it wasn't clear there were multiple to complete. Now we’re telling the client how many forms they have left and have a nice big ‘Next Form’ button front and centre! It’s now clear to clients they have more forms to go.

"Card Declined" Page at Checkout

If  your client’s payment at checkout has been declined due to an error with the card, the staff member will be presented with payment errors, allowing them to fix the errors and, therefore, try to process the payment again.

Client notifications when saving a client card in-store

Now when you save a client’s card details from the Saving Credit Card Details In-Store Screen, the client will automatically receive a respective email. We have also added functionality allowing you to save a card from the Checkout and optionally send a pre-polutated SMS to the client to reassure them that their card has been saved securely. Improvements to gift voucher sales

  • Making sure when just a recipient name is added that the voucher isn't linked to a specific customer. Previously we were searching the client list and attaching a gift voucher to an existing record if it matched the entered client name.
  • Recipient name can be left blank on gift vouchers. This change lets you leave the recipient field blank if required, great for situations where who the voucher is for, might not yet be known.
  • Improve display on the sale complete page when there is no recipient name on a gift voucher. This change supports the previous one, improving the display of a just purchased gift voucher to account for the fact that there is no recipient specified.
  • No longer automatically email the gift voucher to the sending/purchasing client Previously we would always email the sender the gift voucher if they had an email, we now only send an email if the user explicitly chooses to at the end of the sale

Direct link for the client waitlist

This feature allows you to send their clients a link to join you waitlist without having to go through the booking flow. Sharing a link for the waitlist is a fantastic way for our customer’s to build up their cancellation list. This link can be sent to clients or added to social media. Learn more.

TimelyPay as its own Payment Type

TimelyPay is now shown as a separate payment type from Credit Card in all places on the app. This will reduce discrepancies and confusion in the cash up report and/or when reconciling payments for accounting integrations for TimelyPay businesses. Please note that this change will not be retrospective and will only apply from today.
