Kiwi startup, Timely hits major milestone and appoints new Head of Finance

New Zealand based appointment scheduling software company Timely has successfully reached another of their projected milestones, on time and on target. Timely CEO and co-founder Ryan Baker was pleased to confirm that the company quietly hit break-even in June of this year and had continued to run from a cash positive position since. “Focusing on hitting break-even has been a valuable process for us to really understand the economics of our business. It’s been refreshing to have such strong support from our investors and board for this approach. We’ve learned heaps along the way,” he says.

This positions Timely to seize the opportunity to accelerate growth by adding additional resources to the team. The company has started by recently appointing five new staff members across Marketing, Sales, Support and Tech. Most notably, it has confirmed the appointment of Angus Weir to the role of Head of Finance. Formerly CFO at Vend, Weir brings a significant amount of experience to the role, says Baker . “We’re super fortunate to pick up Angus with his vast experience in this space. Vend is a company that we’ve looked up to from day one. It’s a sign of the NZ tech ecosystem working at its finest,” says Baker. Weir will start work with the company on a full time basis at the beginning of October from his Tauranga base.

Mr Weir is excited about the prospect of teaming up with another world class SaaS team and identifies Timely’s exceptionally strong team, product and business model as the foundations for success. “I am bloody impressed by the approach the Timely crew have taken to get to this point. I know how hard it is. The company is now in such an interesting position to take its next steps and I can’t wait to get stuck in,” says Weir.

Timely is a New Zealand based company specialising in appointment scheduling and business management software for the health and beauty industries. Now, with over 6000 customers in 83 countries worldwide, Timely is quietly making steps towards successfully becoming one of the fastest growing SaaS companies for SME’s worldwide. Timely has staff in Wellington, Dunedin, Auckland and London and operates as a fully remote workplace.
