The Customer Engagement team at Yammer, a leading Enterprise Social Network, has adopted online scheduling start-up, Timely, to allow their customers to book an appointment for a new offering called Office Hours.

The program allows customers to secure dedicated time with a Customer Success Manager to discuss the launch and adoption of their Yammer networks. Yammer’s Customer Engagement team was looking for a more streamlined and automated process for coordinating Office Hours, and Timely does just that.

Angeli Mateo, Customer Success Manager at Yammer, says it was about finding an online booking system that could scale with the company.

“We looked for a scheduling system that would be easy for our employees and easy for our customers to make an online booking. We are always looking for ways to simplify the process of scheduling time with our customers, while ultimately providing the same level of support and expertise. Timely provides us with an efficient and scalable solution to do that.”

Timely is a flexible scheduling solution used in a range of industries from salons and clinics through to offices and activities. The co-founders, Andrew Schofield and Ryan Baker previously built a similar system for the tourism industry which was acquired in 2010. Baker says the applications of the solution are almost endless.

“It’s cool seeing the variety of businesses using Timely. It’s obviously popular in appointment-centric verticals like salons and clinics. But we see new and interesting applications every day, such as business consultants, gun ranges, colleges, accountants… and now Yammer!”

Ms Mateo says that a slick system that matched the quality look and feel of Yammer’s brand was high on the shopping list when selecting a scheduling solution.

“Our brand image is really important – and we needed a slick scheduling system that would complement the look, speed and user friendliness of Yammer. Out of all the online booking systems we evaluated, Timely stood out as beautifully designed and able to work well on many devices.”

By implementing Timely, Yammer (which was acquired by Microsoft in 2012) is also using a start-up that is part of Microsoft’s BizSpark programme and hosted on the Microsoft Windows Azure platform. Baker says the support from BizSpark has been a big part of his company’s rapid growth.

“BizSpark has been a huge support to us with getting Timely off the ground. We can focus on building the product and supporting our customers, knowing that the tools we need to build and deliver the solution are at our fingertips.”
