Chloe J’s rise to fame and success

When nail technician Chloe Joel shared images of her ombré work on social media and they went viral, her one-woman business suddenly started booking out. With 20-30 clients filling her weeks, the Beaconsfield-based professional needed help with the overwhelming amounts of admin.

“I always loved my paper diary but it was starting to look so unprofessional and messy. I had to use pencil as I was always swapping appointments and being mobile to begin with, being chucked into my bag and car – it was literally falling to pieces.”

She turned to Timely, as she wanted software that handles salon management and bookings for business owners like Chloe.

“A few years ago, I started practicing and getting the gist of the ombré trend and began sharing my work, showing differing colour combos, mainly through Instagram,” recalls Chloe, who has 26,000 Instagram followers on her page @nailsbychloej. “Then they went viral, which led me to offer an Ombré Workshop through Instagram Live, and I had over 1000 people request to join from all over the world!”

Chloe – who had her first job in a beauty salon doing reception and cleaning at 16 – completed her AET teaching qualification late last year, which means she’s able to teach accredited courses in gel polish, efile, and full cover soft gel extensions. But she wouldn’t have had the time without the support of Timely.

Chloe quickly got the hang of the software, which is now a core part of the business she runs from the reception area of a hairdressers on a busy high street. She loves seeing her day planned out and Timely’s reminder emails reduce any confusion and last-minute cancellations, which has saved her money.

“My favourite feature of timely is definitely the reminder emails and texts. This has 100% saved me so many last minute cancellations and no shows. Recently I had a Zoom call with Timely to go through TimelyPay and found out more features with the system I hadn’t utilised, like the VIP option. I have a lot of regular repeat clients now so this is handy to use. ” 

As well as helping Chloe with increased bookings, and less no-shows and admin, Timely has gone above and beyond to support her business. “Whenever I’ve sent a DM or email, Timely has responded very quickly, and they share and like my work on social media too, which is always a huge boost,” Chloe says.
