Sending emails and SMS messages with Timely
We've made it even easier for you to keep in contact with your customers.
You can now send email and SMS messages directly from within Timely. Lot’s of people were asking for this and we definitely agree that it will be a handy feature.
Here’s how it works:
From within the calendar you simply click an appointment and then click the mail icon next to the customer name:
You can then choose to send either an SMS message or an email:
Hit Send and you’re done. We’ll fire off an SMS or email right away.
Remember – we don’t add any additional information to the message so make sure you add a greeting and let the customer know who you are.
Great - this is awesome.
A wee improvement would be for you to allow us a custom signature that will auto attach to the end of the text.

You guys sure work fast!! I believe it was only last week you spoke about this being a possibility.
Ok, so now I am just being greedy.... but .... at some point, might there be a way to select people (singularly or multiple) from the "customer" collection and choose to send emails/sms directly?
such as if you wanted to share a special message with a select group? Unless of course we can already do that and I just haven't found it yet?!

Early next year we are planning to add new functionality to the system that will allow you to do targeted marketing campaigns (segmented by criteria such as birthdays, anniversaries, number of appointments, etc). Does this sound like the sort of thing you need?
Targeted marketing would ROCK - especially good for reactivating clients ie - "last visit was over 3 months ago"
Targeted marketing is definitely on the list, at this stage we’re looking at Q1 2013.
When you get that targeted marketing working, and I am sold, am desperate to ditch shortcuts and move to a better system.
One of the guys is actually working on targeted marketing and email campaigns right now. It will probably be out within the next month.
How about allowing sent emails to be sent from the email address of the staff members sending it?
or am I missing something?
Hi Luke, ad-hoc emails sent from Timely have the reply-to address set to the email address of the business. So if the customer replies, it goes back to the main email address on the account.
I would like to know if can send special offers to all of my customers on the system by sms. I understand you I can send message one by one bus as business we need to send one message to all customers at once.
