When I first started my business, some days thinking about the bigger picture purely overwhelmed me. It took me many months to stop looking so far ahead so that I could really focus on the present moment. I see so many of my entrepreneurial, heart-centered and driven clients fretting, stressing, worrying and overwhelming themselves with trying to work out what the bigger picture is, before all their business puzzle pieces are ready to be found.

Let the puzzle of your business fall into place

Are you feeling confused about your bigger vision?

I find one of the best things to do when we’re feeling overwhelmed is to take a really big step back, and to give ourselves the space and time to simplify and clarify our vision. Yes of course this sometimes feels like the complete opposite of what we should be doing… and that’s exactly when we need it the most.

We had a long weekend recently, so hubby and I packed up the car and drove up the coast for a few lazy beach-filled days, with ocean swims, long coastal walks in the national park, some impromptu whale spotting, coffee, and chill time. I switched off from social media, the Internet, everything but being in the moment on that weekend, and just spent time overlooking the ocean with my hubby. It was so recharging and so energizing, and exactly what I needed to get clear on my big vision—my ‘big puzzle’ again.

Taking a step back allows for those ‘spaces in between’

Those are the times where we’re not specifically focused on a problem or issue in our business, but when we rather allow ourselves the space to let go and relax. Those are the times that real moments of clarity and foresight can drop in. If you’re feeling stuck on a certain element in your business, or if you feel as though you’re pushing and forcing something that doesn’t quite fit, try taking a step back and allowing the puzzle pieces to find their own place.

This doesn’t mean you stop taking aligned action or showing up in your business; it’s just a gentle reminder that we often find the best answers in the most unexpected places.

Give yourself lots of space outside of your business without plans, rules or expectations

Give yourself lots of space for integrating and completing some cycles. Lots of space and room for some puzzle pieces to slip into their place while you watch from a few steps away, neither attached nor worried about how they’ll fit. When you do this, you’ll see the bigger picture; you’ll see certain aspects of your own puzzle that you may have been looking at too closely. The step back is often exactly what we need to see where we’re going.

Trust. Integration. Completion. Space.

If you’re going through a period of change, growth, transformation or transition in your business, keep going.

These periods bring out a resilience in us we didn’t know we had until we needed it. They help us rise, rise some more, and then grow wings to fly from there.

These transformations ground us and help us leap, all at the same time.

While we may not be able to see the whole puzzle just yet, know that your puzzle is absolutely beautiful… and you don’t need to see the whole picture to know this, to trust this, to feel grateful for it. The truth is your puzzle is the most perfect, gorgeous puzzle it could ever be, and it’s just yours. Don’t compare yours to anyone else’s. Love the guts out of your puzzle, because it’s yours. You don’t have to do anything to earn it, you’re already so perfectly worthy.

The whole picture will become clear when it’s ready to become clear, when you step back a little and give it space to integrate, and when the time is right. The whole picture will become clear when you’re patient enough to let it appear for you, not because of anything else you think you need to be doing. No forcing. No rushing. Just presence.

Yes to presence.

Yes to loving our puzzle.

Yes to being patient while our pieces find us.

Yes to flow, to transformation, to letting go.
