Facebook marketing is the most effective way to instantly reach a targeted audience in real time. A strategy ensures you see return in your marketing efforts.

A Facebook marketing strategy with a difference

You should have a monthly plan in place and ensure you are posting at the optimum times (each day) and be consistent with it.

If you don’t know where to start, we can help. Here are some of the strategies that have had proven results with Six Underground Media.

Increase your appointments using Facebook

Wouldn’t it be great to fill up your empty appointments with a simple Facebook post?  There are a few things to consider to ensure you execute a successful Facebook marketing strategy.

  1. Timing is everything.  Allow your clients enough time to make plans to get to the salon. You need more than three hours notice to fill up an appointment. Ideally send your blast a day or two before you want to fill your appointments.
  1. Boost your post. Boosting a post for $10 or less will give you a return on investment.  Make the post stand out. Try using this script:

“Need a COLOUR? We have had an availability open up this Thursday at 4.00pm.

Call us on:________________ to secure this spot and ask about our new HIGH GLOSS services and SEAMLESS foiling techniques”.

  1. Choose the right image and BRAND it.  Try to choose a large file size. Watermark your brand on it (if you can).  Don’t put more than 20% text on the images  – otherwise it will be in breach of Facebook guidelines for boosting.
  2. Other tips. Tag your product company in the post, or local businesses that may want to share the post with their network. Cafés and retailers are good businesses to connect with. You can return the favour when they have posts to share.
  3. Acknowledge the responses and ask if there’s anything further you can do to accommodate someone who can’t make it.

Tips for boosting your Facebook check-ins

Facebook check-ins are a great way to boost your salons profile to friends of your existing clients.

Each time a client ‘checks-in,’ the post is featured in the news feed of their friends.  If your salon has ten check-ins per week, the reach is 3,500 Facebook accounts.

Create an incentive for your clients to check in, be it a complementary treatment, a sample product or bonus reward points. Be aware that you need to count the check-ins manually, so keep a log at the front desk in a spreadsheet or pen and paper. Facebook privacy settings won’t allow you to retrieve the data from your page.

Use Facebook, SMS and email contact to reach clients about the campaign. Your Facebook numbers will organically grow and  you can use the Check-ins as testimonials for future campaigns.

A smart Facebook marketing strategy will help bring in clients and make more sales, but the key is to plan your promotions in advance. Be prepared and make Facebook a selling machine!
