Timely was founded on December the 13th 2011, by Andrew Schofield, Ryan Baker and William Berger. Prior to Timely, Ryan and Andrew built BookIt — a booking engine for the New Zealand tourism industry. In 2010, BookIt was acquired by Fairfax and became the software behind the travel division of Trade Me, New Zealand‘s largest ecommerce site. During this time we were asked by a lot of small business owners if we could provide a similar solution for other industries like clinics, salons, gyms, trades and so on. There was clearly a lot of pain being experienced, with existing solutions being cumbersome and expensive. So, we built Timely — simple, affordable and reliable appointment software for small businesses. As Timely has grown, we’ve zeroed in on the beauty community, our biggest and happiest group of customers.
We recognise that some folks prefer to work from home, some prefer an office and some prefer a mix of both. Our hybrid remote model caters for all preferences – the choice is yours. We know there’s no substitute for face to face time, so we make sure we get together regularly for a good ol’ catch up.
In a fast-growing remote-working company, our values are what unite us and help align our energy as a group. We believe in what we’re doing, and who we’re doing it for. Check out our code of conduct here.
We obsess first and foremost about our customers because they give us life. We’re successful when our customers are too, and it’s a privilege to serve them.
Work and life are complementary rather than competing priorities. Technology has erased the hard lines between work and life, and we embrace that.
We believe in being yourself – authentic and honest. We value diversity, because diverse teams build better products and better organisations.
Execution is getting thousands of little things right. It’s hard, but rewarding. We don’t always get it right first time, but we learn. Outcomes, not outputs.
At Timely we’re committed to being a workplace where people are welcomed, supported, known, valued and trusted. We’re committed to making constant improvements in our workspace because;
Everyone deserves a safe, supportive and flexible work environment. It’s our responsibility to provide that.
At Timely, customers are our sun and the reason they choose Timely is the people here. When you interact with people in a workplace like ours, you notice because they can be themselves and do their best work.
When we succeed at inclusion it is reflected in the diversity of our people. Diversity to us means all elements that make people their wonderful, unique selves. Diverse teams are way better than samey ones.
